Executive Summary
CMS has made preliminary decisions regarding 112 requests for changes to HCPCS codes for durable medical equipment, prosthetics, orthotics and supplies (DMEPOS) in 2007. The agency will hear public comments on the decisions in a series of meetings from April 25 to May 5. During a Program Advisory & Oversight Committee meeting in September, DMEPOS stakeholders stressed the need to update and expand HCPCS codes for their products before competitive bidding is instituted in 2007.
