Sigma-Aldrich's Fluka Holding subsidiary has received International Organization for Standardization 9001:2000 quality system re-certification for its Swiss facilities in Buchs and Basel. The award acknowledges "our ongoing commitment to utilise the concepts of quality and continuous improvement in the execution of our business functions," said Fluka president Dr Herbert Vuilleumier. Sigma-Aldrich's kits are used in scientific and genomic research, pharmaceutical and disease diagnosis.
