The US National Institutes of Health has awarded a $500,000 grant to a company which is developing a new diagnostic test for birth-related disorders. Adeza Biomedical, of Sunnyvale, California, will use the funding to further develop a test which measures levels of human leukocyte antigen-G in amniotic fluid to help physicians assess the risk of complications such as preterm delivery, high blood pressure and intrauterine growth retardation.
