Molecular diagnostics firm Foundation Medicine is riding high after an initial public offering (IPO) brought in more than it had anticipated. The firm sold 5.9 million shares at $18 each, giving it a grand total of $106m – above the hoped-for target of 5 million shares at $14-16 apiece (www.clinica.co.uk, 16 September 2013).
