Executive Summary
Federal Trade Commission publishes consent order in the Dec. 29 Federal Register as final step of settlement of alleged violations of unfair practices and unfair methods of competition laws by Revlon's Ultima II ProCollagen Anti-Cellulite Body Complex and PhotoAging Shield products. Under the agreement, Revlon is required to have scientific evidence to support future claims for the effectiveness of cellulite treatments or sunscreen products and to state the SPF value in any ad making sun protection claims. Violation of the order may result in a civil penalty of up to $10,000. FTC gave final approval to the consent agreement with Revlon in November ("The Rose Sheet" Nov. 29, In Brief).
