Joseph Kennedy has been appointed vice-president, general counsel and secretary at Transcept Pharmaceuticals (US). He has more than 15 years' legal experience representing pharmaceutical companies, developing life science companies, investment banks and venture capital firms. Mr Kennedy served as vice-president and acting chief legal officer, and previously chief corporate counsel, of Eyetech Pharmaceuticals. Before that, he worked as vice-president and US counsel, corporate business development, at Elan. Transcept completed a merger with Novacea in January.
