Amid the economic downturn more US patients are leaving prescriptions unfilled, according to data released by the health information company Wolters Kluwer Health. The number of these "abandoned" prescriptions – those submitted to the pharmacy but never picked up by patients – increased as the amount of the co-pay increased.
