2,400 jobs are to go at UCB through its previously outlined restructuring initiative "SHAPE", the company has announced. The Belgian firm said that the cuts, which represent 20% of its workforce, are needed to improve its competitiveness and profitability, and they come as it enters "challenging times" with patent expiries.
