The UK's National Institute for Biological Standards and Control (NIBSC) says it has produced a strain of the influenza A/H1N1 virus that is suitable for commercial production of a vaccine. The unit is one of the World Health Organization's collaborating centres (along with those in the US and Australia) that are racing to produce the ideal strain for large-scale production.
