US Senate appoints new global AIDS co-ordinator

Executive Summary

The US Senate has named Dr Eric Goosby the next US Global AIDS Coordinator. Dr Goosby brings over 25 years' experience to the role, including serving as CEO and chief medical officer of the Pangaea Global AIDS Foundation and deputy director of the White House National AIDS Policy Office under the Clinton administration, and has been a practising physician treating HIV patients since the 1980s. As co-ordinator, Dr Goosby will consider future ways to continue fighting the pandemic, while working with the Obama administration.
