Lithuania’s vice-minister of health Gediminas Cerniauskus has been promoted to health minister after the resignation of his predecessor Rimvydas Turcinskas in June. Mr Cerniauskus, who was also vice-minister of health in 2001-04, is expected to remain in the post until the parliamentary elections, scheduled for October 12th.
