New member to Canadian research council from Pfizer

Executive Summary

The governing council of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), the government's agency responsible for funding health research in the country, has appointed Dr Bernard Prigent to the council for a three-year term. Dr Prigent is vice-president and medical director of Pfizer Canada; he also has previous experience in clinical development and commercialisation of medicines in oncology, respiratory medicine and infectious diseases, among others.
