Shire has elected Bill Burns to its board as a non executive director and has also appointed him a member of the company's remuneration committee. Mr Burns has a distinguished career in the global pharmaceutical industry, having worked for Roche for many years; most recently as CEO of their pharmaceuticals division and as a member of the Roche Group corporate executive committee.
