Valeant Pharmaceuticals (US) has appointed Rajiv De Silva chief operating officer of speciality pharmaceuticals. He will oversee the company's US, Canadian and Australian speciality pharmaceuticals operations. Mr De Silva was most recently president of Novartis Vaccines USA and head of vaccines of the Americas. In 2005-07, he served as president of Novartis Pharmaceuticals Canada.
