Carlyle Group makes two key appointments

Executive Summary
Robert Essner, former chief executive officer and chairman of Wyeth, has joined the private equity firm The Carlyle Group as senior advisor to its global healthcare group. He will provide guidance on the healthcare investment process, from sourcing to purchase, and will advise portfolio company executives on management, operational and growth strategies. Eric Kump has also joined Carlyle Europe Partners as a managing director for leveraged buyouts. He joins from Dubai International Capital, where he was head of the European private equity team.
