Finland's president Tarja Halonen has appointed Juha Rehulaas the new minister of social affairs and health with immediate effect. Mr Rehula, who has been chairman of the parliamentary committee of social affairs and health for the past three years, replaces Liisa Hyssala who will become general director of the national social insurance institution on 1 October 2010.
