Insurance firm AXA says it will not cover damages for Servier's controversial drug Mediator (benfluorex) if the country's second largest drug firm had promoted it for weight loss. Mediator was an add-on treatment used by overweight diabetics and has been associated with 500 to 2,000 deaths and numerous lawsuits in France.
