Executive Summary

Two years after it acquired Shantha Biotechnics, an Indian manufacturer of cut-price vaccines, Sanofi-Pasteur has made its first top-level change at the firm, roping in competitor Biocon's R&D chief, Dr Harish Iyer, to lead Shantha as CEO. Shantha's founder and managing director, Dr Varaprasad Reddy, has been eased into the role of chairman of the company.
