Merck Serono staff in Geneva are to hold a half-day strike on 31 July following the breakdown of attempts to reach an agreement with management over the closure of its Swiss headquarters in Switzerland. The Swiss trade union Unia warned that action (including sector-based strikes and stoppages every Tuesday morning in August) would continue if the management does not rethink.
