While much of the discussion during the AIDS 2012 conference last week revolved around eliminating mother-to-children transmission of HIV by 2015 – with the latest data "encouraging" towards meeting that goal, US Global AIDS Coordinator Ambassador Eric Goosby declared on 24 July – there nonetheless remains about 3.4 million children under 15 years living with the virus, with only about 23% receiving treatment.
