EMA's CHMP names vice-chair

Executive Summary
The European Medicines Agency's committee for medicinal products for human use (CHMP) has elected Dr Pierre Demolis as vice-chair, for a three-year mandate. Dr Demolis – a cardiologist by training – is currently director of the oncology and hematology division at ANSM, the French medicines agency. He has been a member of the CHMP since 2007. Dr Demolis will replace Dr Ian Hudson in the role; Dr Hudson became the chief executive of the UK regulatory agency, the MHRA, in September this year. Meanwhile, Sweden's Dr Tomas Salmonson remains the committee chair, having been elected in 2012 for a three-year period.
