While most of the 2.2 million Americans who have enrolled in and selected healthcare insurance plans through the Affordable Care Act (ACA) marketplaces are older than 35 years, about a third are under that age, with about a quarter in the so-called "young invincibles" population of 18-34 years, Obama administration officials said on 13 January, disclosing for the first time a breakdown of the age groups signing up for coverage.
