Medicines wins 2 FDA nods: Raplixa, Ionsys

Executive Summary
After the markets closed on 30 April, the FDA granted approvals to The Medicines Company for two of its products – Raplixa (fibrin sealant [human]), which was the first the spray-dried fibrin sealant ever OK'd in the US to control bleeding during surgery, and for Ionsys (fentanyl iontophoretic transdermal system), the first needle-free, patient-controlled, preprogrammed fentanyl delivery system.
