Continuing public health violations in China are incompatible with a Chinese representative leading theWorld Health Organization, an Italian official has charged. Dr Walter Pasini, director of the WHO's collaborating centre for tourist and travel medicine in Rimini, Italy, told the AGI news service that Italy should begin a diplomatic effort to remove Dr Margaret Chan as WHO director-general.
