Croatia's pharmacies are short of cash

Unlike hospitals which are receiving higher payments from Croatia’s institute for health insurance (CIHI) to help them settle debts to wholesalers of medicines and medical goods, the country’s pharmacies have received up to €11 million less than they need. The CIHI has apparently a budget of €315 million to pay for drugs, while actual spending is around €424 million, reports Scrip’s correspondent in Zagreb.
