Biota settles with GSK over Relenza

Executive Summary

Biota of Australia has decided to settle in its litigation battle againstGlaxoSmithKline. Biota was suing the licence-holder of its flu treatment Relenza (zanamivir) for allegedly failing to adequately develop and market the product. Biota will receive a payment of A$20 million ($20 million), with each party bearing their own legal costs. Biota had been looking for between A$564 million and A$704 million.
