NZ provides NZ$15 million for autism services

The New Zealand ministry of health is allocating NZ$15 million ($8.4 million) to improve autism services, following recommendations in the New Zealand autism spectrum disorder guideline. The funding will be used to improve services over three years, based on advice in the guidelines. Priorities for the allocation of funding include at least NZ$1.6 million to improve assessment and diagnosis, including research and development; NZ$2.5 million for effective interventions; and $2 million or more for improved co-ordination between services, among other areas.
