Pharmaceutical giant Nicholas Piramal India (NPIL) announced on August 31 that it would hand off its drug discovery operations to a separate entity. The new company, tentatively known as NPRC, would be primarily responsible for further testing of the 13 formulas NPIL currently has in development.
