The Pharmaceutical and Food Safety Bureau of Japan's Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare will hold a forum on OTC drug labeling and information-sharing with consumers regarding risk categorization to re-examine the OTC sales system as part of a follow up to the New Drug Legislation passed in 2006. Risk categorization took effect in April 2007, and this April, a test registration system for pharmacists qualified to handle lower-class drugs (first-class is the highest risk category) will be enacted
