Daiichi Buys Rights To ArQule Cancer Drug Still In Trials

Executive Summary

Daiichi Sankyo and ArQule of the United States have joined forces to develop cancer drugs, beginning with a $75 million investment. The upfront payment by Daiichi is for rights to ArQule's ARQ 197 c-Met inhibitor for liver and other cancers, now in clinical trials in the U.S. The purchase gives Daiichi rights only in China, Taiwan and South Korea, and not in Japan.
