India Readies Medical Device Bill To Regulate Prices

India's government is ready to introduce a new law to regulate the price of medical devices in the country. The Union Science and Technology minister said the draft to be presented soon to the cabinet would set stronger standards for device makers as well as set up certification procedures. The intent, he said, is to reduce health care costs by encouraging more local for imported devices.
