This article was originally published in PharmAsia News

Executive Summary

The first cases of hepatitis C suits filed against the government have been settled in Japan's prefectures of Fukuoka and Osaka, with 29 plaintiffs agreeing to government-proposed compensation. Negotiations by the 29, who were among about 240 people to file suit as far back as 2002, are not expected to be held with the drug makers.
