Executive Summary
China's import of medical devices saw a 16.3 percent increase in 2007 after shrinking the previous year. U.S., Germany and Japan, the top three sources, accounted for nearly 70 percent of the total business. The U.S. is the largest supplier with its electronic medical treatment products, while Germany shows the strongest growth potential. A number of trends can be observed: a significant increase in digital product import; a rise in price and volume of medical implants and consumables; MNCs maintaining their technological advantage; Beijing, Shanghai and Guangdong forming the major importers; and China's reliance on imported sophisticated equipment. Analysts expect medical device import to maintain moderate growth for this year. (Click here for more - Chinese Language)
