China International Medical Equipment Fair Highlights

This article was originally published in PharmAsia News

Executive Summary

The 59th China International Medical Equipment Fair and the 6th International Component Manufacturing & Design Show were held from April 18-21 in Shenzhen. A major trend dominated Asia Pacific's biggest medical devices event: investors seeking to park money with local medical device manufacturers. Key local firms and 30 top global venture capitalists converged at the venue to look for development opportunities. To address this need, a new exhibition zone was set aside to showcase local makers' in vitro diagnostic devices. Foreign exhibitors have been expanding their floor space annually, with the area occupied this year almost double that of 2006. In contrast, China's leading-edge enterprises have not been growing their presence at the show. (Click here for more - Chinese Language)
