Executive Summary
Japan's International Medical Center says it has developed a 15-minute test for the presence of the H5N1 avian influenza virus. Current tests require six hours to detect the virus. IMC says its kit, developed with diagnostics maker Mizuho Medy, is mobile and needs only a lung or throat fluid sample from suspected carriers of the virus.
