The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority is developing new guidelines that allow local government authorities to collect fines from drug makers in the areas where they actually have assets. The practice has been to refer cases to district authorities on a case-by-case basis, but the new NPPA guidelines strengthen the government's ability to collect the assessments.
