China Plans National Flu-Monitoring System For Vaccination Prep

Chinese authorities are planning a nationwide monitoring system to track the incidents of influenza and be prepared for vaccinating the public. One official said only 1.5 percent of the Chinese receive an annual flu vaccine, compared with more than 20 percent in most developed countries. The World Health Organization has encouraged wider use of flu vaccines in China because of the frequency of mutations and high infection rates.
