This article was originally published in PharmAsia News

Executive Summary

China's health care reform plan is still in the process of getting input and undergoing adjustments. Informed sources revealed that the previous two meetings held by the State Council also proposed actively looking into the reasonable flow of doctors. However, legislators worry that liberalizing policies could compromise the supervision of medical practice and increase the risks of unwanted incidents. A Ministry of Health official says the reform will need to include systems for medical accountability and social insurance, requiring different related policies to be developed.
