Tokyo Company Develops Drug Inspection Device Using Terahertz

Tokyo-based Advanced Infrared Spectroscopy (Aispec) developed Pharma QC-1000, a device using terahertz time-domain spectroscopy to conduct spectrometric quality control of pharmaceutical products at a speed of 6,000 tablets per minute. Targeting major drug makers, Aispec has partnered with Tokyo-based MicroTech, a company that provides imaging devices to major pharmaceutical companies, to utilize its sales channels.
