India Biotech Revenues Grow By 20 Percent, Under Usual 30 Percent

India's biotechnology industry grew by 20 percent during 2007-2008, registering $2.56 billion in revenues. But BioSpectrum, which commissioned the biotech survey, said the appreciation of the Indian rupee and pricing pressures on exports, which account for more than half the sector's revenues, meant the one-year growth was short of the 30 percent annual growth the industry had registered for five consecutive years.
