This article was originally published in PharmAsia News

Executive Summary

Taiwan's bulk-drug production increased by more than a third for the first five months of this year, leading to an overall 6.7 percent increase in pharmaceutical production, according to Industry and Technology Intelligence Services. Production of Western pharmaceuticals rose only 0.9 percent between January and May, the poor growth rate blamed on government policy that adjusted co-payments for drugs from that sector.
