SFDA To Take Over Cosmetics Administration In September

China's Ministry of Health and State FDA have jointly announced that SFDA will be responsible for administering the permits of imported cosmetics, locally made cosmetics for special use,and new raw materials for cosmetics beginning Sept. 1. Early this year, the State Council confirmed in the health reform plan that SFDA would take over cosmetic administration from the Ministry of Health. To facilitate the smooth transition and transfer of duties between the two bodies, MOH will continue with its role on cosmetics permit acceptance until Aug. 29.
