According to the National Development and Reform Commission, China is formulating an overall plan for deepening its health care reform. The central government will continue to allocate budget to support and equip health care system establishments in the countryside, upgrading or setting up new township health centers, county-level hospitals, TCM hospitals, as well as women's and children's health care organizations. The rural three-tier health network is being improved, with new cooperative medical care systems covering such areas around the country. More than 800 million rural residents have participated in the program.
