Japan's Mitsubishi Electric says it has developed a transportable device to take X-rays without the need of a special facility for larger machines. The accelerator can fit in the palm of a hand, but emits powerful X-rays needed for medical diagnoses. Mitsubishi said it also is considering a commercial model for use by medical centers.
