PDMA Director Assumes Role As MHLW Assistant Vice Minister For Pharmaceutical Affairs

Japan's Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Agency Director Shuichi Kishida assumed the position of Assistant Vice Minister for Pharmaceutical Affairs at the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, Sept. 1. Former Assistant Vice Minister Tatsuo Kurokawa resigned on the same day. A graduate of Osaka University's graduate school in pharmaceutical science, Kishida entered the MHLW in 1974. In 2003, he became a director for the Pharmaceutical and Food Safety Bureau and a director in charge of safety measures for the PDMA in 2004. He became a board director for the PDMA in 2006.
