Executive Summary
Pharmaceutical sales in India increased by 10 percent last year to register $697.34 million. But the increase, which came as drug makers continued to cut back on marketing costs, was not as large as 2007's 13.4 percent. The growth in global sales, by comparison, saw a greater decline, down from 11.4 percent in 2007 to 3.6 percent in the 2008 year ending in October. The top three sellers remained the same, Cipla, Ranbaxy Laboratories and GlaxoSmithKline in that order. (Click here for more
