Japanese Biotechs Develop Quicker Diagnostic For Cancer Metastases

Japan's Sysmex and Oncolys BioPharma say they have developed technology to use certain viruses in detecting living tumor cells as they are suspended in blood. Circulating tumor cells are blamed for cancer metastasis, but conventional diagnostics are able to detect their presence only through the proteins they secrete, and that in turns helps in identifying the size of the metastatis.
