Japan's Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare approved March 10 optical topography imaging as a class two advanced medical technology. The testing is indicated to diagnose patients showing symptoms of depression, bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. Depression caused by organic disease is excluded.
