China To Survey Cost And Market Pricing Of Medical Insurance Drugs

In tandem with China's health care reform and national basic medicine system implementation, National Development and Reform Commission recently announced that it will conduct a survey on market prices and production costs of all 1,031 Western medicines and 823 TCMs in the catalogs of national basic medical insurance and work injury insurance. The study includes product costs, market price, tender price, provincial pricing and recorded price. NDRC said that clarification about medicine cost and pricing will help the government adjust its pricing policy in a timely manner. According to Beijing Municipal Commission of Development and Reform, the city has identified Beijing Pharmaceutical, Beijing Yibao Quanxin Pharmacy, Peking University Third Hospital, Beijing No.6 Hospital and Beijing Jinsong Hospital as subjects for the survey.
