South Korea Regulator Orders Up To 1,000 Drugs Pulled For Asbestos

South Korea's FDA has ordered drug makers, pharmacies and others to trash an estimated 1,000 drugs and medical products containing talc or talcum powders feared to contain asbestos. The names of the products suspected of being contaminated were not yet disclosed. A scare of contamination began with 11 brands of baby powder, but later an estimated 1,000 drugs were known to contain the widely used talc, a key ingredient in making pills, particularly capsules.
